A useful fit for

A household or host with a large outdoor cooking area who wants a wide wood-fired hearth and can verify support, delivery and installation before ordering. The exact U.S. page describes gatherings and residential freight delivery despite the commercial wording.

The main tradeoff

The 27x45-inch floor is substantial, but the manual's five-pizza/pan count has no pie diameter. Its feet/cart weights and the native variant weight are not reconciled; there is no gas mode, and the exact manual requires 12 feet from combustibles in all directions.

WPPO Karma 55 review

A very large 304 stainless wood oven with a 27-by-45-inch cooking floor. Its “Commercial” label does not tell the whole household-use story, but the installation footprint, clearance and unresolved weight details deserve a careful site check.

WPPO’s product-row gallery shows the Karma 55 on a support, but its image is not linked to a specific support variant. The manual distinguishes feet and cart configurations; confirm what ships with WKK-04COM.

The U.S. listing calls this single-SKU model the Karma 55 304 Stainless Steel Commercial Wood-Fired Oven, SKU WKK-04COM. “Commercial” is part of the manufacturer’s product name, and the manual calls the 55-inch size its extra-large commercial class. At the same time, the same U.S. page describes it for outdoor kitchens including backyards and large gatherings, and the freight note explicitly discusses residential delivery. That is enough to keep it in a consumer pizza-oven comparison rather than assume it is commercial-only. It is not, however, a certification or local-code promise: confirm the intended residential installation with WPPO and the authority responsible for your site.

A 55-inch body is not a pizza-size rating

The published cooking area is 27 by 45 inches, or 1,215 square inches. WPPO lists an oven-only exterior of 55 inches wide, 37.5 deep and 56.75 high including the stack. Its manual gives a matching 27-by-45-by-11.75-inch interior and a 24.75-by-9.75-inch door opening. The maker says the chamber holds up to five pizzas or cast-iron pans, but it does not name the pie diameter for that count. Treat the area as a substantial work surface, not proof that five large pizzas fit or that a particular 14-inch pie clears the mouth.

That distinction matters more here than on a small countertop oven. The very wide floor is useful for managing several foods or a large gathering, while the door opening remains narrower than the oven’s outside width. If maximum pizza diameter or a simultaneous serving count is essential, ask for a written dimension or layout for this exact SKU; the finder does not treat the model number or square footage as a capacity guarantee.

Heavy installation, with a support detail to verify

The current native listing provides SKU WKK-04COM, and the exact Karma 55 manual shows a feet-supported parts configuration under that SKU. The manual’s size table lists 403 pounds for the oven with adjustable feet and 493 pounds for its separate cart configuration. The listing’s variant data also contains a heavier weight value without saying whether it is net, shipping or assembled. Those are not interchangeable measurements. Confirm the exact delivered support, load, unloading method and route before planning a deck, island or lift. The 55-inch-wide body and tall chimney need room beyond the cooking floor itself.

The page describes 304 stainless steel, thermal-guard insulation, an interior designed to radiate and retain heat, and a stainless fire separator. Those details support a substantial outdoor cooking station; they do not make the unit light or remove the need for a stable, properly located support. The image here shows a cart presentation, while the manual also lists adjustable feet, so do not assume that the photograph proves a cart comes with every offer.

Wood firing is the whole cooking plan

The exact Karma manual describes a wood fire inside the chamber. It calls for dry solid medium or hardwood, split to roughly 12–16 inches long and 2–5 inches in diameter, and rejects damp or treated lumber, sappy wood, laminated or chipped products, driftwood, coal and plywood. The manual recommends gradually raising the flame and bringing the deck toward roughly 500–650°F; 900°F is its stated maximum, not a selectable target or independent performance test. A fire separator is listed, but no gas, pellet or charcoal version is verified for WKK-04COM.

This is a hands-on fire-and-peel oven rather than a preset appliance. The cook manages fuel and flame, checks the floor, and turns food as needed; no digital thermostat, app, remote start or powered rotator is documented for this model. Expect to plan the fire and reheating rhythm around the menu instead of selecting a program and leaving the oven alone.

Outdoor clearance is a hard filter

WPPO’s exact Karma manual says the oven is for outdoor use only and requires at least 12 feet between the oven and combustible materials in all directions. The instruction specifically includes walls, ceilings, awnings, canopies, foliage and construction materials. A backyard marketing reference does not make a covered wooden patio suitable. Measure the actual location before comparing heat claims, and use the complete manual and local fire/building rules for installation.

The manual also warns against over-firing, closing the door over an active fire, using liquid starters, moving a hot oven or allowing water into the chamber. Its maintenance directions include keeping the chimney clear and letting ashes cool in a covered metal container away from combustibles. Those are ordinary wood-oven responsibilities, but the 12-foot radius and hundreds-of-pounds support decision make them especially important here.

Who should consider the Karma 55?

Consider the WKK-04COM if you have a large outdoor cooking area, want an unusually broad wood-fired hearth and can verify the exact feet or cart package before delivery. It can serve the maker’s backyard-and-gathering use case, despite its commercial wording. It is a poor fit for an indoor request, a low-clearance patio, a buyer who needs a confirmed maximum pie diameter, or anyone whose installation depends on an exact delivered weight that has not been clarified.

If the 55’s footprint is more oven than your meals need, compare the smaller Karma 42 or Karma 32 with their own published measurements and support options. Those are separate models, not equivalent capacity promises. Choose the 55 for its documented floor area only after the site, support, load and local use approval make sense; do not buy it just because “55” sounds like a pie measurement.
