A useful fit for

A cook who wants one outdoor propane pizza up to Gozney's listed 14-inch size, values a local oven-temperature display and accepts a nearly 48-pound body plus very generous siting space. It sits between 12-inch Arc Lite and 16-inch Arc XL in capacity.

The main tradeoff

Compared with Arc Lite, Arc adds a 20 mm floor, 14-inch capacity and a supplied local thermometer, but is about 21 pounds heavier. Compared with Arc XL it is narrower and lighter, but stops at 14 inches. Both Arc and Arc XL remain propane-only, outdoor, hand-turned arrangements.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I bake a 14-inch propane pizza outdoors and have an oven display without buying monitoring equipment?

Yes. The current Arc box includes a digital oven thermometer/display and the 14-inch standard propane plan; it still needs outdoor placement, hand turning and sufficient documented clearance.

Can Arc satisfy an essential 16-inch pizza size?

No. Its exact US product page lists 14 inches; compare Arc XL or another model with an explicitly larger floor.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can I run Arc in an indoor kitchen, garage or enclosed porch?

No. The page and manual require outdoor-only operation; a propane oven is not made indoor-safe by an open door or exhaust fan.

The current US Gozney Arc is an outdoor propane oven for one pizza up to the maker's listed 14-inch size. The observed native US product is Off Black SKU GAPOBUS1425. It sits between the 12-inch Arc Lite and 16-inch Arc XL, but the change is not just color or a larger title: Arc has a 20 mm removable cordierite floor, a supplied digital oven thermometer and a 47.5-pound oven body. Its manual identifies a propane/LPG plan rated at 14,400 BTU per hour and 11 inches water column.

Choose the 14-inch size before the flame story

Gozney lists a 14-inch pizza capacity, an exterior footprint of 18.9 by 22.2 by 13.5 inches, an interior chamber of 14.8 by 18.1 by 6.8 inches, and a 14.8-inch-wide, 3.74-inch-high mouth. This is the useful middle size: a required 16-inch pie belongs on Arc XL. The stone is not a two-pizza deck; the documented rhythm is one pizza at a time, with hand turns as needed.

The lateral rolling burner may reduce how often you turn, but it is not automatic rotation. The floor is stationary; no powered turner was confirmed for this native base variant. The maker's 950°F maximum and “60 seconds or less” copy are specifications and promotional claims, not independent tests or a guarantee for every recipe and weather condition.

The useful distinction in its thermometer

The box includes a thermometer, 1.2 m hose and regulator, burner guard, flue outlet, stone tool, Torx driver and matchstick holder. The manual describes a digital display and probe for at-the-oven temperature. That is not a stone-surface reading, food probe or phone monitor; if stone readiness matters, an infrared reading is a different measurement. Remote flame adjustment is not documented.

The removable 20 mm stone still needs gradual cooling and dry care. The manual describes a burn-off cycle above 350°C for about three hours, not permission to leave a gas oven unattended or wet a hot stone.

Plan the outside station—and the lift

This is not an indoor or garage appliance; the manual requires outdoor, attended use on level stable support. The US page lists 47.5 lb for the oven and 60 lb boxed, while the manual placement page says 20 kg. Use the higher product-page weight for handling. The manual's general warning says 1.5 m from structures, combustibles and other gas cylinders, although a later diagram gives 30 cm back/sides and 100 cm front. Because these statements differ, the matcher uses the more conservative 1.5 m; confirm placement with Gozney and local rules. Keep two inches open around the base intake, never put the cylinder underneath, and avoid high winds.

How the questionnaire changes the fit

Choose outdoor, propane, a maximum 14-inch pizza and a local display with no extra monitoring hardware, and Arc fits its documented base plan. A 16-inch minimum, indoor use, phone monitoring, an under-47.5-pound limit or less than the conservative clearance should remove it. The exact native model is propane-only; do not assume conversion because another Gozney model has a separate gas variant.

Compared with Arc Lite, Arc adds a 14-inch floor, 20 mm stone and supplied digital display, but is about 21 pounds heavier. Arc XL offers a listed 16-inch size and more cooking area, at roughly 11 pounds more than Arc. These are fit differences, not evidence about bake quality. If the display is unnecessary and 12 inches is enough, Lite is smaller; if the 16-inch floor matters, XL is the sibling to compare. For indoor pizza, choose an explicitly indoor-approved electric oven.

Arc is a sensible fit for cooks who value a local oven reading and regular 14-inch pizza more than portability. It is a poor match for indoor cooking, 16-inch dough, a phone-controlled cooking session, or a patio where the more conservative clearance cannot be met. Verify the offer's exact Off Black product identity (GAPOBUS1425) and the included hose/regulator. The current manufacturer page is evidence for model identity and specifications, not a promise of stock or a substitute for reading the manual.

Key details at a glance

Fuel versionsThe current US native variant is Off Black SKU GAPOBUS1425; Arc and the US/CA manual specify propane/LPG, 14,400 BTU/h and 11 in. W.C. Do not assume natural-gas conversion.

Published standard-oven weight47.5 lb

Motorized stone supplied in base packageNo
Standard cordierite thickness20 mm

Monitoring and controlsThe current Arc base package includes a digital thermometer/display and its oven-temperature probe. This is local oven information, not a stone-surface reading, a food probe, phone monitoring or remote flame control.
Optional rotating setupA rolling lateral flame can reduce how often a cook turns a pizza, but it is not a rotating stone. This plan uses a stationary floor and hand turning; no powered-turner compatibility was established.
Space and measurement noteUS product page lists outside W 18.9 x D 22.2 x H 13.5 in; internal W 14.8 x D 18.1 x H 6.8 in; mouth 14.8 x 3.74 in. The same page lists 47.5 lb oven mass and 60 lb in packaging. Manual placement page gives 20 kg for Arc; use the higher product-page mass for handling. Leave two inches clear around the dock's air intake.
Stone careOutdoor use only, never unattended. Keep away from high winds, use level stable support, keep the cylinder upright/outdoors and not beneath the oven, and maintain two inches of unobstructed intake around the base. The manual has a broad 1.5 m warning and a later placement diagram with smaller differentiated sides/back and front clearances; the matcher uses the more conservative 1.5 m number. The 20 mm removable stone must cool gradually and stay dry; the manual says the oven self-cleans above 350°C over about three hours, which is not a substitute for safe supervised operation.
Cooking modes and limitsGozney lists a 14-inch pizza size and 950°F maximum. It describes a 20 mm removable cordierite stone and two-layer insulation; those are product specifications, not independent heat-up or repeat-bake measurements. Allow the oven to cool before handling or covering it.
