Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I bake a 16-inch propane pizza outdoors and get the supplied local oven display without buying another accessory?
Yes. Arc XL is listed for 16-inch pizza and includes the digital oven thermometer/display. Its body is 58.5 pounds by the product page; the supplied floor still requires hand turning.
Explore this need in the finder →Will Arc XL satisfy a strict 17-inch pizza requirement?
No. The exact Gozney listing says 16 inches; choose a model whose documented floor is larger rather than treating an oversized dough as supported.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I keep the assembled oven at or below 55 pounds and still choose Arc XL?
No. The US product page lists the Arc XL oven itself at 58.5 pounds, so it exceeds that handling limit before table or fuel-cylinder weight.
Explore this need in the finder →Gozney Arc XL is the 16-inch branch of the compact Arc family. The current US native product offers Bone SKU GAPBNUS1624 and Off Black SKU GAPOBUS1624; these are finish variants of one cooking configuration, not two separate ovens. Each uses propane, a stationary removable 20 mm cordierite floor, a lateral burner and a supplied digital oven thermometer. Gozney lists the oven at 58.5 pounds before packaging and the product page states a 16-inch pizza size.
Make sure you need the larger floor
Arc XL's exterior is 20.9 by 24.8 by 13.5 inches. The listed interior is 16.8 by 20.3 by 6.8 inches, with a 16.8-by-3.8-inch mouth and 338.5 square inches of stated cooking space. That allows a larger single pie than 14-inch Arc, not two simultaneous pizzas. If 12- or 14-inch pies cover your needs, Arc XL's footprint and lifting weight may be avoidable.
The two Arc gas models are not separated by a different fuel menu. Arc XL's exact US/Canada manual identifies model/type GOZ-1728, propane/LPG at 17,500 BTU per hour and 11 inches water column. The current product page lists a 950°F maximum, which is a manufacturer specification rather than an independently measured stone or air reading. Its 20 mm stone is removable. Gozney's manual describes a burn-off cleaning cycle after the oven exceeds 350°C for about three hours, but that should not be mistaken for an unattended-cleaning feature; follow gas-shutoff and cooling instructions.
A local oven reading and a manual cooking rhythm
The box includes a digital oven thermometer and probe, 1.2 m gas hose/regulator, burner guard, flue, stone tool, Torx driver and matchstick holder. The display reports oven temperature, not the exact stone surface or food center. The sources do not document a phone monitor, app-based flame control, powered rotation or food probe. An at-oven display is included without another monitoring purchase; a phone-reading requirement is not met.
The side-mounted lateral flame may reduce how often you turn, but does not spin the pizza. Use a peel to manage it by hand. The 3.8-inch mouth height matters for deeper cookware; measure pans against the opening and keep the burner guard and airflow unobstructed.
Clearance and handling are part of the product
Use Arc XL outdoors only, under supervision, on level stable support. The manual's broad warning says 1.5 m from structures, combustibles and other gas cylinders, but its later diagram gives 30 cm at back/sides and 100 cm at the front. The finder uses the stricter 1.5 m value; confirm placement with Gozney and local rules. Separately leave two inches open around the base intake, keep the cylinder outdoors and upright (not beneath the oven), and avoid high wind.
The product page lists 58.5 lb oven-only and 73 lb boxed; the placement page says 25 kg, a lower converted figure. Use 58.5 lb for handling decisions. It excludes table and cylinder weight. At 20.9 by 24.8 inches, Arc XL also needs a larger stable surface than Arc; a 55-pound limit or tight patio should rule it out.
Arc XL, Arc or Arc Lite?
Choose Arc XL for regular 16-inch pies and a wide prep surface. The 14-inch Arc includes the same style of local display and 20 mm floor but is narrower and about 11 pounds lighter. Arc Lite is listed for 12 inches, weighs 26.5 pounds by its manual and uses a 12 mm floor; a local display is not documented. Decide by size, mass, clearance and monitoring rather than a presumed performance ranking. For indoor cooking, select an explicitly indoor-approved electric oven.
In the finder, outdoor propane plus 16 inches and a local display can fit the Arc XL base plan with no functional accessory required. A 17-inch minimum, indoor location, phone monitoring, a weight ceiling under 58.5 pounds, or less than the chosen conservative clearance should remove it. Switching the finish from Bone to Off Black changes appearance only; both observed exact SKUs are retained under one review because their documented functional features match. The product page's “cook in 60 seconds” phrasing is promotional, not a promise that every 16-inch recipe will finish in that interval.
Arc XL suits cooks who will use its larger 16-inch floor often enough to justify the space and lift. It is not a portable, indoor or multi-fuel oven. Confirm the finish SKU and support dimensions, then use the exact manual for placement. Sources: Gozney Arc XL US product page and Arc and Arc XL US/CA technical manual. Key details at a glance
| Fuel versions | Current US native Arc XL offers two finishes: Bone SKU GAPBNUS1624 and Off Black SKU GAPOBUS1624. They are finish variants of the same propane configuration. The exact US/CA manual identifies Arc XL as LPG/propane, 17,500 BTU/h and 11 in. W.C.; no natural-gas variant is inferred. |
|---|---|
| Maximum pizza on standard stationary floor | 16 in |

| Published standard-oven weight | 58.5 lb |
| Temperature hub supplied with oven | No |
| Food probes supplied with oven | 0 |
| Motorized stone supplied in base package | No |
| Standard cordierite thickness | 20 mm |
| Manufacturer maximum temperature | 950 °F |
| Monitoring and controls | The base box includes a digital thermometer/display and its oven-temperature probe. It reports oven temperature rather than the exact stone surface or food core, and the source does not document phone monitoring or remote gas-flame control. |
| Optional rotating setup | The lateral flame is designed to reduce time spent turning, not to rotate a pizza automatically. The stone remains stationary; this review assumes manual turning and no unverified motorized attachment. |
| Space and measurement note | US page lists outside W 20.9 x D 24.8 x H 13.5 in; internal W 16.8 x D 20.3 x H 6.8 in and mouth W 16.8 x H 3.8 in. Gozney also lists 338.5 sq. in. cooking space and a 16-inch pizza size. Oven weight is 58.5 lb and boxed weight 73 lb; manual placement figure is 25 kg, so use the higher product-page oven weight for fit. Keep two inches clear around dock intake. |
| Stone care | Outdoor-only and supervised operation; use stable level support and plan for a 58.5 lb body. The manual's general warning says 1.5 m from structures/combustibles/cylinders, but a later diagram says 30 cm to the back and sides and 100 cm at the front. Matching uses the more conservative 1.5 m warning and keeps two inches around the base air intake. Keep the cylinder outdoors, upright and not beneath the oven; avoid high wind. The removable 20 mm cordierite floor should cool gradually. Manufacturer cleaning instructions describe burn-off above 350°C over about three hours, not a shortcut to disregard supervision or fuel shutoff. |
| Cooking modes and limits | Gozney lists a 16-inch pizza size, 338.5 sq. in. cooking area, 20 mm removable floor and 950°F maximum. Those are manufacturer product claims, not independent bake-time measurements. A larger floor admits a larger peel/pizza and uses more counter space and lifting effort than Arc. |

| Dedicated dough-proofing mode | No |
