A useful fit for

An outdoor cook who values a portable 13-inch pizza oven, integrated battery-powered turning and local stone-temperature feedback, and can verify its station clearances.

The main tradeoff

The smaller 13-inch floor and single infrared burner are the cost of a lighter 28.9-pound body. It has an onboard reading and built-in rotation but no phone monitoring; the exact U.S. package is propane, not natural gas. The exact manual/clearance chart is not available on the U.S. support index yet.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the U.S. propane setup rotate a 13-inch pizza and show stone temperature at the oven?

The exact U.S. propane plan is listed for 13 inches; it does not establish a 14-inch cooking surface.

Does this one-piece oven stay under a 30-pound oven-weight ceiling for an outdoor station?

The manufacturer lists 28.9 lb net oven weight; the tighter limit is already exceeded before cylinder, stand or tools.

Can I run a U.S. propane cylinder or canister plan without a separate functional rotator under a 30-pound oven-weight ceiling?

The U.S. page lists propane cylinder/canister hookups, built-in rotation and a 28.9-pound net oven; natural gas is not documented for this exact setup.

The KILN P is the portable member of Everdure’s rotating-stone pizza oven family. It trades the KILN R and DR’s 16-inch, two-burner station format for a single infrared burner, a 13-inch stone, a local digital temperature display and a body the manufacturer lists at 28.9 pounds. That is a more plausible oven to move between a home patio and another outdoor cooking station, but “portable” still means planning for a gas cylinder or canister, a stable heat-safe surface and open-air operation.

Small footprint, powered rotation and a real display

The Black U.S. native option is SKU EKILNPBUS; Terracotta EKILNPTUS and Green EKILNPGRUS are finish alternatives in the same product row. The page describes an automatic turntable, not a manual-turn-only oven. Its display reports stone temperature and rotation status and can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. This is a useful local reading, but it is not a food probe, phone feed or remote flame control. The burner remains a manually adjusted gas control, so stay with the oven and watch the food.

At 13 inches, the stated pizza size is notably smaller than the KILN R and DR’s 16-inch capacity. The opening is listed at 3.46 inches high; Everdure recommends cookware no taller than 1.9 inches. The quick-release stone can be lifted for cleaning, but it is not dishwasher safe and should not be submerged. The page says the body is 17.48 inches wide, 19.63 deep and 11.53 high; the net oven weight is 28.9 pounds and its packaged weight is 38.6. A carry from storage to the patio is different from transporting the complete fuel-and-prep setup, so plan for the cylinder, table, peel and hot-stone cooldown separately.

Propane connection and outdoor limits

For the U.S. package, Everdure lists a Type 1 cylinder hose and regulator plus a propane-canister connection. The page specifies a 14,000-BTU-per-hour infrared burner and says the oven can connect to a propane canister or an LPG/propane cylinder. It also warns that fuel and connection type vary by region; the Australian, European and U.K. box lists are not interchangeable with the U.S. setup. The exact Black U.S. SKU can therefore match a propane plan, but not a natural-gas-line request. The manufacturer says to use it only above ground, in open air with natural ventilation, and not indoors. It recommends a metal or stone heat-resistant surface and advises against glass, plastic and tablecloths. Wind can weaken the flame; Everdure recommends facing the oven out of direct wind and does not recommend adverse-weather operation.

Four batteries are part of the operating routine

The product page lists four AA batteries: three for the display and turntable and one for the electric igniter; the cells are not included. The page describes the turntable as battery powered, unlike the larger DR’s battery-or-mains turntable option. If your cooking station has no convenient outlet, P’s battery arrangement is a real portability advantage, but remember to carry spares and keep the ignition battery separate from the display pack.

Everdure asks for a 30-minute first-use burn-off, then an approximately 15-minute high setting to heat the stone during normal setup. Those are maker directions and estimates, not measured warm-up results; the two-minute pizza claim is likewise not a promise for every dough, ambient condition or topping load. When launching a pie, the maker’s FAQ says to pause rotation for the launch, lower the burner, then restart rotation. The product page advises complete cooling before care because both oven and stones hold heat. It says to clean the stone with water, brush away food, never submerge it and let it dry fully; no dishwasher or accessory bundle should be assumed.

Manual and clearances remain the missing bridge

Everdure’s U.S. manuals page currently marks the KILN P manual “Coming Soon.” The product FAQ provides some setup, ignition, open-air, first-burn and cleaning instructions, but it does not provide a numeric combustible-clearance diagram. I therefore leave required clearance unknown in the finder rather than copying a distance from KILN R, DR or another brand. If a compact station has walls, an overhead cover, an apartment balcony or other nearby construction, confirm the exact P manual and local rules before ordering; an open-air statement is not a substitute for a measured safe perimeter. The product image shows the exact Black SKU as a polished manufacturer render, not evidence of a tested cooking result.

Compare the KILN sizes before choosing portability

KILN P makes sense when one 13-inch pizza, local stone feedback, integrated turning and a sub-30-pound oven are the useful combination. If you want a 16-inch round stone, the KILN R or DR is a better size match but is more than twice as heavy. R adds the under-stone burner and documents a specific propane SKU; DR adds a display and both-burner status indications, but its observed color-only U.S. code does not resolve propane versus natural gas. P’s single infrared burner removes that dual-burner sequence, yet its small cooking opening and no-outlet operation will not suit everyone. The three-model comparison lays out those differences side by side. Confirm the label and instructions that ship with your exact oven before connecting gas or choosing a cramped location.

Key details at a glance

Fuel versionsThe exact U.S. native row 8340961984649 has color variants, including Black EKILNPBUS. The U.S. product page lists a Type 1 cylinder hose/regulator and a propane-canister connection; it explicitly says fuel/connection details differ by region. Do not use EU/UK/Australian butane or LCC27 fittings for this U.S. plan. Natural gas is not documented for this exact setup.
Maximum pizza on standard stationary floor13 in
Maximum pizza with matching optional rotating kit13 in
Published standard-oven weight28.9 lb
Temperature hub supplied with ovenNo
Food probes supplied with oven0
Motorized stone supplied in base packageYes
Monitoring and controlsThe integrated local LED reads stone temperature and rotation status and supports C/F. It is not a food probe or phone monitor; gas is adjusted at the oven knob.
Optional rotating setupBuilt-in automatic battery-powered rotation; page states three AA cells power display/turntable and one separate AA powers ignition; batteries are not included. Manual turntable operation details should be checked in the delivered instructions.
Stone careThe maker limits use to above-ground open air with natural ventilation; not indoors. Use a stable heat-resistant metal or stone surface, not glass/plastic/fabric. Follow the maker’s first-use 30-minute burn-off and cool fully; stone is not dishwasher safe and must not be submerged. The U.S. manual page currently marks KILN P “Coming Soon,” so numeric combustible clearances remain unknown.
Cooking modes and limitsThe manufacturer describes manually adjusted gas burners and a local temperature display, not a selectable target-temperature mode or named pizza presets.

Use the exact model’s instructions for operating limits, supplied equipment and version differences.
