Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can this outdoor configuration fit and rotate a 16-inch pizza without a separate turning kit?
The page lists 16-inch capacity and built-in automatic rotation; an essential 17-inch request exceeds the documented maximum.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I monitor both stone and oven temperature locally while rotation and the under-stone burner are active?
The maker documents local oven/stone readings and status indicators, not a phone temperature feed.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the listed oven fit a 71-pound handling ceiling if I do not require an exact fuel selection yet?
Published net weight is 70.11 lb; a 65-pound limit fails before fuel, stand or accessories are added.
Explore this need in the finder →The Everdure KILN DR is the more instrumented version of Everdure’s 16-inch rotating gas oven family. Its dual-burner layout, rotating stone and broadly similar footprint to the KILN R are not the headline change; the DR adds a digital display with separate stone and oven readings plus rotation and under-stone-burner indicators. That is useful feedback during a cook, but it is not a thermostat, a food probe or a phone connection.
More information while cooking, not automatic temperature control
The manufacturer describes a U-shaped upper burner and a separate burner beneath the stone, with an automatic rotating turntable. The DR display reports oven and stone temperatures, shows a visual heat guide and rotation/under-burner status, and can use Celsius or Fahrenheit. You still set the gas controls yourself. The product page does not document named pizza presets, a selectable temperature range, remote monitoring or a phone-operated flame. A local readout can help you decide when to launch or adjust a pie, but it cannot make the oven a set-and-forget appliance.
There is a safety dependency in that second burner: Everdure warns against leaving the under-stone burner running for an extended time while the turntable is stopped, because it can damage the stone. The same warning makes powered rotation more than a convenience checkbox. Follow the current instructions supplied with the oven before using the boost burner, and do not treat the indicator as a substitute for the prescribed sequence.
Capacity, bench space and carrying weight
The listed round stone and pizza capacity are 16 inches. Everdure also says the chamber can accept cookware, but the mouth is only 3.62 inches high and the page recommends cookware no taller than 2.95 inches. A nominal 16-inch floor does not establish that every pizza rim or pan clears the opening. Check your peel, topping load and vessel dimensions against the actual opening before building a menu around the maximum.
The published exterior is 25.98 inches wide, 29.17 deep and 14.96 high; listed net mass is 70.11 pounds, with a 91.49-pound shipping weight. These figures describe a heavy station oven, not an easy one-person carry. Measure the counter and route to it, then leave room for a propane cylinder, peel work and heat-safe placement. The public page says above-ground open air and specifically rules out indoor use. I found no posted KILN DR manual with a numeric clearance diagram on Everdure’s U.S. manuals page, which still labels DR “Coming Soon.” Do not borrow the R manual’s distances as if they were verified for this different model; get the DR instructions and local requirements before choosing a tight station. Use a stable, heat-resistant surface, not glass, plastic or fabric.
Resolve the gas code before ordering or connecting
The current Everdure native U.S. row identifies KILN DR product 8340949598345 and offers finish variants including Black SKU EKILNE2BUS, Terracotta EKILNE2TUS, Green EKILNE2GRUS and Stone EKILNE2SUS. That establishes the black configuration and its color siblings, not separate fuel-specific retail SKUs. The product page publishes output for both a 25,450-BTU-per-hour LPG/propane version and a 21,030-BTU-per-hour natural-gas version, and lists 11-inch-water-column and 4-inch-water-column hoses for the respective versions. It does not map the observed Black SKU to one of those fuel versions. The linked official U.S. manual page currently says the KILN DR manual is coming soon. For that reason, the matcher does not treat this color-only SKU as confirmed for either a propane-tank or natural-gas-line request. Check the delivered rating plate, regulator and version-specific instructions before buying for a particular fuel hookup; never infer a conversion from the product family name.
Rotation power and care take planning too
The page says the display and turntable use six AA batteries, with one more AA for ignition; batteries are not included. It also describes a mains adapter option for the display/turntable system, not electric heating. This lets a fixed patio station avoid using batteries for rotation when a suitable outlet is available, but does not reduce the oven’s weight or make indoor use acceptable. The page recommends a first-use 30-minute burn-off, then cooling before wiping away soot. For later cleaning, it says to let the body and stones cool completely, brush food away, clean the stone with water, and never submerge it. The stone is not dishwasher safe and can remain hot for hours. The manufacturer’s “approximately two minutes” cooking statement is a marketing claim, not an independent timing or a guarantee for every dough and load.
Where DR fits against R and P
Choose DR when a 16-inch rotating surface and local stone/oven feedback matter enough to accept a 70-pound dual-burner appliance. The KILN R is the simpler related 16-inch rotating model: its reviewed Graphite code is a documented propane SKU, it has the same broad two-burner idea, and the manufacturer does not list the DR’s digital temperature display. R’s listed net weight is 64.37 pounds; it is still heavy, but about six pounds lighter. The portable KILN P changes the brief rather than replacing DR: its 13-inch infrared oven is 28.9 pounds, with a local stone display and battery-powered rotation, but no under-stone second burner or mains-turntable option. Compare all three in the KILN R, DR and P guide and open each exact review before choosing by finish or advertised cook time.

Key details at a glance
| Fuel versions | The observed U.S. native product 8340949598345 has finish-only variants, including Black EKILNE2BUS; its row does not select fuel. The current product page lists LPG/propane and natural-gas versions with different outputs/regulator pressures. Everdure’s U.S. manuals index marks KILN DR “Coming Soon.” Do not match this exact color code to an essential propane or natural-gas request until the delivered rating plate, regulator and version-specific instructions are confirmed. |

| Maximum pizza with matching optional rotating kit | 16 in |
| Published standard-oven weight | 70.11 lb |
| Temperature hub supplied with oven | No |
| Food probes supplied with oven | 0 |

| Optional rotating setup | Automatic rotation is built in. The page describes battery or mains operation for the display/turntable system and warns not to leave the under-stone burner on for an extended time with rotation stopped because this can damage the stone. Follow delivered manual sequence. |
| Stone care | The manufacturer says to use outdoors in above-ground open air with natural ventilation, on a stable heat-resistant surface, not glass/plastic/fabric. It describes an initial 30-minute burn-off, full cooldown, removable stones, water-only stone care and no submersion/dishwasher. The DR manual is not linked; numeric combustible clearances remain unknown. |
| Cooking modes and limits | The manufacturer describes manually adjusted gas burners and a local temperature display, not a selectable target-temperature mode or named pizza presets. |
