Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I run this oven outdoors on propane without supplying a separate grill?
Yes. The exact page lists its two-burner liquid-propane firebox with hose and regulator; the required cylinder is not listed in the package.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its guide describe a stationary stone that I turn by hand?
Yes. The exact guide explains manual pizza turning; it does not describe a motorized rotating floor.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the finder confirm a hard minimum pizza diameter for this exact model?
No maximum pizza diameter is published for O-AJLXX-O-000. A numeric minimum is not treated as met just because the chamber is 15 inches wide.
Explore this need in the finder →Does this exact base package include both a pizza peel and turner?
No. The exact page and guide package parts distinguish the O-AJLXX box/firebox package from the O-AJLBD kit with the wooden peel and turner.
Explore this need in the finder →The BakerStone Original Series Portable Gas Pizza Oven Box, SKU O-AJLXX-O-000, is the self-contained outdoor LP version of the Original box—not the bare grill-top chamber. Its exact U.S. product page lists the oven box plus a two-burner firebox, hose and regulator. The maker’s package list does not include a propane cylinder, peel or turner, so treat those as separate decisions rather than assuming the word “oven” means a complete table-ready kit.

A small-footprint oven with a real gas setup
The appliance uses a five-sided stone baking chamber above two large stainless-steel burners. BakerStone rates the firebox at 25,000 BTU and lists liquid propane as its fuel; the model-specific guide’s cover includes O-AJLXX-O-000 and says outdoor use only. Unlike the separate O-AHXXX box, this SKU does not ask you to supply a host grill. It does still need the correctly sized LP cylinder, safe open-air placement and a stable surface. The manufacturer manual specifies a 20-pound LP cylinder and says to use the supplied hose and regulator, not an arbitrary replacement.
Inside, BakerStone publishes a 15-inch-wide by 13¾-inch-deep by 3-inch-high chamber. Those interior dimensions help you assess a pan or the room available for a peel, but the maker does not publish a maximum pizza diameter for this exact configuration. The inside width is not a promise that a 15-inch pizza will launch, turn and clear the opening comfortably. Our finder therefore does not treat a requested minimum pizza size as met when its exact support is unknown. The assembled unit is listed at 21.7 by 22.2 by 17.7 inches and 47.6 pounds without packaging, useful numbers for storage and lifting, not a full cooking-station footprint.
What the cooking routine actually asks of you
This is a manual-turn setup rather than a rotating-stone oven. The guide tells the cook to preheat on high for 15–20 minutes, shape and launch the pizza with a floured wooden peel, allow the base to set, then turn it by hand with a long spatula or pizza turner. It notes the back of the appliance runs hotter and describes turning roughly a quarter to a third of a rotation about every 45 seconds. The maker’s 2–4-minute cooking time is a guideline that varies with weather, the appliance and gas performance; it is not an independently measured result or a promise for every dough and topping load.
The front indicator uses broad temperature ranges for baking and high-heat pizza/roasting. The manual specifically cautions that this indicator is not an accurate measuring instrument. BakerStone also advertises temperatures reaching 900°F or more and, elsewhere on the page, pizzas in as little as 90 seconds. Those statements describe the manufacturer’s claims; they do not replace checking the stone or validate a particular bake time. If exact surface readings, a phone display or automated rotation are essential, this configuration does not document those capabilities.
Placement and care are part of the purchase
The guide rules out indoor and enclosed-area use, including a garage, and warns against use beneath overhead combustible surfaces. It calls for at least 10 feet between the sides and back and a structure, combustible material or another cylinder. It also says not to leave the appliance unattended, not to move it while lit and to leak-check the hose and connections before use and whenever the cylinder is replaced. Those clearances can make a small oven difficult to use on a compact patio or under a covered deck; check the complete guide and local requirements before settling on a location.
Before placing the order or choosing a patio spot, consult BakerStone’s Original Series Product Guide; its cover lists this exact O-AJLXX model.
For cleanup, the guide says to let the unit cool before touching or storing it, heat it for about 15 minutes after food is finished, and scrape away residue without cleaners or liquids on the stone. It calls for regular burner-system cleaning and a more detailed inspection after prolonged storage. This is not a dishwasher-safe stone or a low-attention electric countertop appliance. The maker lists a one-year warranty; confirm current terms with BakerStone before purchase.
Who should shortlist it?
Choose O-AJLXX if you want an outdoor, LP-powered oven with its own two-burner base and already have suitable pizza tools or do not mind buying them. In the finder, outdoor location, propane and a standalone host choice describe the documented plan. An indoor requirement, natural-gas line, powered rotation or essential pizza-diameter minimum should remove it rather than be guessed from the marketing copy. If you want the same Original oven with both a wooden peel and turner listed in the package, compare the O-AJLBD-E-000 kit instead; its cooking chamber and burner rating are not a larger upgrade.
If you already own a compatible grill and prefer a host-dependent box, the reviewed BakerStone Basic Series box kit has a different installation plan and its own burner-count guidance. If cooking indoors is non-negotiable, compare an indoor electric model such as the Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo rather than trying to adapt a gas appliance. O-AJLXX’s most important tradeoff is therefore not a speed ranking: it is whether a 47.6-pound outdoor LP station, manual turning, separately sourced tools and a large safety envelope fit the place and routine you actually have.
